Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see what's new, innovative, and changing the game for IT.
We've been back from HP Discover 2012 for just over a week now, and I think most of us have recovered from a long & intense week in Las Vegas.I'm hoping our amazing Chapter & SIG leaders and other volunteers have also, because they were fantastic!
Thank-you Vivit Volunteers!
This year, we had an unprecedented amount of activity go on, and even though our booth was hidden in the deepest recesses of the voluminous show floor (yes HP, I'm still grousing about that), the power & passion of the people of Vivit drew a huge amount of activity. And we could not have managed all those great conversations, new members, and of course, prize wheel spinners, without our stupendous staff & vivacious volunteers. It's these Best & Brightest people that make Vivit what it is - and what a community it is. According to the latest info shared with me, we added 679 new Vivit members at HP Discover - welcome to the community!
And speaking of community, Vivit & Connect threw one amazing event on Wednesday, June 6 at the TI hotel.
In an upcoming blog entry I'll share the inside scoop on the Community Celebration we co-hosted at Gilley's Tavern on the Wednesday night, complete with pictures of the mayhem fun! It was awesome to have the opportunity to celebrate with so many of our members and volunteers, and especially to honour Vivit & HP's excellent award winners.
What Are the Game Changers?
Right before we came down for the HP Discover 2012 event, Vivit and HP partnered in two initiatives to launch our joint "Game Changers" strategy to support what our members are asking for. First, we did a collaborative survey where we asked you to tell us what disruptive technologies are changing the game in your organisations, and how we can help you manage them. The feedback on the survey was fantastic, and Phil Nguyen from HP & I give a high-level overview of the results in the video attached with this blog entry.
If you'd like to see more on the survey, we have the complete survey results and our initial analysis available on our site for you to review, and add your thoughts to the results. We really want you all to participate in helping us all collectively understand the impacts of the Game Changers.
The second initiative was a "pilot" of a new roadshow that we ran in Vancouver, BC Canada (hmmm, why there? ;-) ) where we invited HP's best & brightest to engage in an open set of dialogues with Vivit's best & brightest around the topics of cloud, mobility, security/privacy/governance, and big data. The response to the event was amazing, and the feedback fantastic. So we're looking to have the event move into "full roadshow mode" and come to more cities where Vivit members are and wish to join in.
Would you like the Game Changers Roadshow to come to your town? Let us know by responding to my blog, or posting your thoughts in our discussion forums.
