Celebrating five years of Vivit membership! Pedro Mendes joined Vivit as a member in 2013. His involvement within the community has developed over the years, and we are proud to share his Vivit journey so far.

After two years of “regular” membership, Pedro visited the Vivit Booth at 2015 Discover in London for a conversation with the Vivit team to discuss the volunteer role of a Vivit Leader. He joined the leadership team in December 2015 as a leader for the Portugal Local User Group. He shared his knowledge as a speaker at several webinars in the security space. Due to his consistent dedication to sharing his practitioner’s expertise through Vivit webinars and sessions at the annual Discover conferences in Europe on data protection and recovery, Big Data, and Internet of Things, Pedro received the Vivit Speaker of the Year Award in 2016. Members value his focus not only on the technology but on the benefits of the technology. Mendes said, "Sometimes there is a gap between technology and benefits; that’s where I think we can make all the difference.” The past 2 years Pedro has been nominated for a position on the Vivit Board of Directors.

Pedro Mendes is a Business Unit Manager at DataSmart. Previously, he worked as a Client Manager for a French Multinational company called GFI. He has a post-graduate degree in project management, and he is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer.
