Last month, HPE announced
the launch of containerized versions of its HPE IT Operations Management (ITOM) suites to accelerate and streamline the continuous operations of IT management software for on-premise or cloud operational environments. At HPE Software, we are re-architecting our products and suites in containers and microservices. We want to enable IT to empower their businesses to move faster. Our HPE ITOM suites enable IT organizations to realize three fundamental requirements – Easier, Faster and Transformative.
Easier - IT Operations toolset have to deliver value quickly and easily. We have radically simplified our ITOM products set to four key suites, and we made them easy to consume, easy to deploy and easy to integrate. As a quick reminder, our four suites are:
Faster – IT Operations needs modern software to accelerate delivery and processes. HPE ITOM suites are based on Container Deployment Foundation, the modern architecture for IT organizations committed to own the digitization and enable business to move faster. This new architecture is crucial for IT that want to adopt the DevOps principles – in short it enables continuous operations. Containers are our new unit of delivery which will make for consistent and simplified distribution, installation, upgrades and operations across our ITOM portfolio. Suites come in pre-integrated containers, which also allows us to unify the license model and shared services. Installation and upgrade time is significantly shorter and in our next release we will offer rolling upgrades with zero downtime. Container Deployment Foundation is based on Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration. Kubernetes technology helped us to embed auto-scaling and automated and simple HA and DR in each suite. Container Deployment Foundations makes our HPE ITOM software flexible to be deployed anywhere, on premise, in virtualized environment or in public cloud. Some of our suites, such as ITSMA, offer the beta version to be deployed on AWS EC2. Over the next few quarters we will provide support for the further AWS services as well as additional public cloud providers.

Our strategy is to release HPE ITOM suites every three months. With just released Container Deployment Foundation, our suites have incredible time-to-value.
We continue offering our suites in a current, non-containerized delivery model and there are no plans to obsolete it. You have the choice how to get your software delivered!
