Recap of HP Discover from a New Staff Member, Teri Sarallo Americas Chapter and SIG Liaison
Again this year, HP Discover did not disappoint! And what a way to kick off the week but with an amazing dinner and networking opportunity at Carmine’s restaurant in the Forum Shoppes at Ceasar’s Palace. Vivit hosted the evening to express our sincere gratitude to our Leaders for all the work they have done in the past year to help grow our membership beyond 30,000 worldwide! Over 30 people gathered Monday evening before the opening of the tradeshow and had a great time meeting other leaders in the Vivit Community as well as the Vivit Staff.
Being new to Vivit ~ that day was my official “first day”~ it was a great way to start my role as the Chapters and SIG Liaison for the Americas. I had the opportunity to meet and greet so many of you in a casual setting and really learn how important the Chapter and SIG Leaders are to the pulse of Vivit. You are the ones interacting with our members, sharing your knowledge, connecting them with other companies or partners and helping to share best practices within the HP Software community. Your efforts and commitment to this role are sincerely appreciated and we hope you enjoyed yourselves that evening.
From a late night to an early morning, the fun continued as we hosted HP Marketing and our Chapter / SIG Leaders at a kickoff breakfast in the Grand Luxe Cafe Tuesday morning. This was a great opportunity for Vivit Leaders to connect with their HP Marketing Representative. We also shared the future direction of Vivit that you have helped define.
Finally, Vivit's outstanding leaders were recognized at the Americas Award Ceremony held in collaboration with HP. We toasted their volunteer efforts throughout the year. This year’s winners were as follows:

Vivit Board Update
The elections for the Vivit Board Seats were completed in May and right before HP Discover in June all new board members were present for the local two day Board Meeting in Las Vegas. On the first day, the positions were decided and here you can find an overview of all the (new) board members and their position:

Quarterly Leader Meeting
With Tammy Young being back in the Chapter/SIG chair of the Vivit Board and Teri Sarallo being the new Americas Liaison we decided to use the July Quarterly Leader Meeting to present the plans that we have for Vivit Chapters and SIGs for 2015/2016. We shared information how you can help to build the Vivit community and how to grow your career with Vivit. Membership Committee meeting
On Tuesday, July 28 the Membership Committee meeting took place and all Vivit leaders were invited for this first session run by the new Vivit Director in charge of this portfolio. This was his message in the invitation:
I'm Mark Ford, and I'm the newly appointed Membership Director for Vivit Worldwide. You are receiving this invitation to join us for the next Vivit Membership Committee meeting to learn more about what the Membership Committee does and how it serves our Vivit community. We're inviting all current Membership Committee members as well as all current Chapter Leaders to the July meeting where I'll talk about the purpose, objectives, and plans for the Membership Committee for the upcoming year. It will be a great opportunity to decide if you want to continue serving on the Membership Committee or if you would like to join us as a committee member. I look forward to seeing you there!
